The research was carried out using Asian stone types as follows: the samples were stripped of colour to obtain a surface showing only the appearance that reveals the essence of the collection rather than the surface colours.
We then worked on these ‘colourless’ surfaces in two ways: updating them with modern colours, and then inserting quartz and mineral pigments typical of natural stone into the original fissures in the stone.
As a result, The Rockies is inspired by the stone and re-interprets it in an unusual way.
